Sugar and Spice and everything nice... Well, cables and lace, anyhow! These socks are for the person who wants a little of everything in their knitting. Four simple lace panels (2 motifs) travel down the front, back, and sides of these socks, with a basic Gull Stitch cable between them. The lace panels are both simple and delicate, and compliment variegated yarns well without losing stitch definition. The gull cables with their slipped stitches pick up and highlight the striping patterns of the variegated yarn. All 3 patterns are easy to create and memorize so you will zip right through these complicated looking, elegant socks. Sugar and Spice socks let you have it all - cables, lace, and the colorful yarns you love to knit with. These socks were specifically designed for Crystal Palace's new yarn, Panda Silk. This elegant yarn adds a touch of silk for shine that helps make stitch definition even clearer, and the mostly bamboo/wool blend feels marvelous on the feet - soft, cool, strong, and excellent for wicking moisture away from your skin. The short-repeat colors are also designed to resist pooling and be more subtle variation on a theme, so they complement stitch-work well. However, other tonal variegated yarns of similar weight (or of course solid color sock yarns) should also work well with this pattern. Materials:
Gauge: 10 stitches to the inch in stockinette. Sizes (completed sock width):
